In his final year of university he founded a graphic design studio and began taking on international commissions. He went on to study under a photographer working between New York and Berlin, and it was in the midst of this apprenticeship that he first picked up a camera and was captivated by it. After roughly three years refining his craft as an assistant, a nomination at a contemporary art show in New York became the turning point for his independent practice.

He is known for a monochrome sensibility that draws out the gradations of light and shadow. Today he works as a photographer in Japan and abroad, and serves as creative director on the art project DREAMDIVER.
